With every puppy

What comes home with your Boston Terrier

Every Margie’s Pets puppy comes with the same four things, and is covered by our health guarantee.

  • AKC registration papers
  • A microchip
  • A shot and worming record — up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and de-worming at delivery
  • A 4-generation pedigree

Good things to ask before you call

A short list to help families have a useful first conversation:

  • Is there a current or upcoming litter?
  • What are the next steps if we’re interested in a puppy?
  • When and how would we pick up our puppy?
  • Can we see the shot and worming record and the pedigree at pickup?
  • Has the microchip been registered, or should we register it?

Suggested questions only. Answers come from the kennel — nothing here describes their actual process.

Bringing your puppy home

  1. Get your paperwork. Your puppy comes with AKC registration papers, a microchip, a shot and worming record, and a 4-generation pedigree. (Verified)
  2. Book a vet visit within 48 hours. New owners should have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours of delivery. (Verified — from the guarantee)
  3. Bring the shot and worming record to the vet so they can plan your puppy’s next vaccines and de-worming. (Sample text)
  4. Register the microchip with your contact information (see below). (Sample text)

Steps marked “sample text” are general suggestions for the kennel to approve or replace.

Microchip

Unregistered microchip?

Every puppy comes with a microchip. If your puppy’s microchip is unregistered, visit AKC Reunite.

How microchip registration generally works

  1. Find your puppy’s microchip number (your vet can scan it if you don’t have it written down).
  2. Enter the number and your contact details with a pet recovery service such as AKC Reunite.
  3. Keep your phone number and address up to date if they change.

General guidance only; the kennel should confirm or replace it. Check AKC Reunite’s own site for their current process.
